Human littering on land and at sea sends tons of trash, especially plastic. Each year, Indonesia generates 6.8 million tons of plastic year and it is growing by 5% annually. Overfishing is Indonesia is severe. According to the World Research Institute, it was found more than 50% of the wild fish population in Indonesia experienced overfishing.
Our threats destroy their habitats, disrupt food webs, and harm or even kill marine species, leading to biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse.
Tide Together is an app that will be designed to raise awareness and inspire action for SDG 14, Life Below Water. Through the platform, users can learn about the impact of human activities such as littering, overfishing, and habitat destruction, while also discovering practical ways to help protect marine ecosystems. The app connects people with local and global volunteering opportunities, like beach cleanups, reef conservation, and awareness campaigns, even workshops on how to recycle plastic including plastic jewelry and art workshops to create something useful that helps the ocean ecosystem, reducing sea waste, turning knowledge into real impact. By joining Tide Together, users become part of a community driven by awareness and united in action to create healthier oceans for future generations.

Volunteer and workshop events will be available in several locations around Indonesia so you can have the chance to make an impact either close to your home, or even far away.
